Now here’s a little story.
A wicked long time ago, late 1980s or early 1990s, I was involved in what was then called the Police-Community Relations Committee of the 2nd District.
One of the perks was meeting cops in a non-confrontational setting. They feel like they’re with “friends” and can be a little informal. Makes sense.
Wowwww the things they say in their safe spaces. I think my favorite was this one cop who had kind of a local fandom and openly complained that the Fourth Amendment is ruining everything and everything would be so much better if he could just arrest the people he knows are bad. It was ab-so-lutely wild.
I am not surprised at all to hear that white supremacists are overlapping with cops. It’s just a slightly different flavor of authoritarianism.
